key to ratings
- 1 star ☆: I wish I’d put this down earlier, but something compelled me to finish it. I now regret following that compulsion, because this was such a waste of time and energy.
- 2 stars ☆☆: whether it’s the plot, soundtrack, characters or something else, this media only has a single redeeming factor among all the other mess. I slightly regret spending any time at all of this, but it’s not the most upsetting thing in the world.
- 3 stars ☆☆☆: this either started bad and got better, or it had a strong start that didn’t carry through the whole story. if it had remained more consistent I could have given a more polarising rating.
- 4 stars ☆☆☆☆: very good, but it’s missing something. maybe the character design is lacking a little, or there is a plot-hole I just can’t ignore, but overall I really liked this story.
- 5 stars ☆☆☆☆☆: not only was this story incredibly well-designed, but it made me feel things, deeply. I was so invested in it all that I forgot about the real world for a while. when I finished and had to move on with my life, it was with a sense of mourning.
- gold star ✨: the best of the best. If they ever invent a way for us to re-view something for the first time, I’m beginning with these.
